TOPOGRAPHY
The site features dynamic topography with a approximately 20 meter elevation change, offering unique design opportunities. Higher levels provide panoramic views and openness, while lower levels create sheltered, private zones. The design uses multi-level terraces and stepped pathways to follow the natural contours, which enhances connectivity, minimizes excavation, and preserves the natural terrain.
SITE
The 1,603.4 m2 site has 20 m elevation difference, ideal for layered architecture. The plan includes eight private villas and a high-point café for social interaction and views. The layout prioritizes sustainability and integration with the natural terrain.
WALL EXTRUDE
Leveraging the significant elevation change, a dynamic pathway uses extruded walls to guide users, dene views, and connect the architecture to the land. This transforms the ascent into a layered architectural experience.
CUT AND FILL STRATEGY
To create stable platforms, the design uses an on-site cut and fill strategy, reusing soil from high zones in low zones. This sustainable approach minimizes external transport and ensures the structure naturally integrates with the terrain.
LEVEL STRATEGY
The post-cut-and-fill site is divided into six terraced levels to follow the natural topography. This ensures maximum views and privacy for all villas by distributing them strategically, enhancing accessibility and offering unobstructed views of the site and conservation areas.
FUNCTIONAL LEVEL
The six levels are functionally zoned: Level 1 has a café. The rest are for villas, with the top two reserved for VIP villas. This vertical zoning integrates social and residential functions with the topography.
FACADE DESIGN
The façade prioritizes function and ecology. Level 1 ensures clear accessibility. Walls use natural stone to integrate with the landscape, and vertical plantations are incorporated, enhancing sustainability and the overall aesthetic.
FINAL LAYOUT
The site’s six terraced levels follow the 20 m slope. A café is on Level 1; eight villas (two VIP) are above, maximizing views/privacy. Paths/walls dene circulation; cut-and-fill stabilizes the ground. Natural materials (stone/plantations) ensure integration. The Bali-style layout creates a sustainable, immersive environment.
TERRACED.STEPPED ARCHITETURE
The design is characterized by its harmonious integration with the natural hillside, featuring a terraced, stepped architectural massing that follows the landscape’s contours. Key elements include distinctive sloping roofs, extensive use of natural stone cladding, and large, expansive windows that maximize light and panoramic views. This creates a modern-rustic aesthetic, blending contemporary forms with natural materials, and emphasizes private outdoor living spaces for each unit, ensuring both seclusion and a strong connection to the breathtaking natural environment.
